World Book Day 2010

World Book Day on Thursday 4th March was celebrated throughout the school as children and staff brought into school their favourite book and dressed up as their favourite character.  The children had great fun taking part in the largest annual celebration of books and reading in the UK.  There was a huge variety of characters - click here for more photos.

Special assemblies took place and children had a chance to listen to members of staff about their favourite books and why they liked them so much.

Hats for Haiti
Total so far £524

The whole school has joined together to raise money for Haiti after it was hit by the earthquake on 12th January.  The capital city Port-au-Prince was devastated. 

A huge variety of hats were worn to school in all shapes and sizes.  Many children emptied their money boxes and brought the contents into school to help the Haiti people.
